Modica has an extensive background in both collegiate communications and operations as well as in web design. He has served as the communications director for three NCAA Division III conferences and designed or redesigned websites for the North Atlantic Conference (NAC), Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC), New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC), Upstate Collegiate Athletic Association (UCAA) and New England Sports Network (NESN).

Modica currently serves as the Sports Communication Coordinator for the NAC, a position which includes maintenance of the conference website, coordination of the Conference Player of the Week and post-season honors programs in addition to compilation of conference statistics and publicity for NAC championships. He will continue to serve in this role with the NAC.

A graduate of the University of Arizona, Modica recently spent three years as the Assistant Director for Conference Operations with the NESCAC where he was responsible for planning, developing, and conducting public information activities, including press releases and maintenance of the conference web site. In addition, Modica assisted with conference scheduling, the coordination of conference championships and awards program, and with activities of the conference Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.

Prior to his position with the NESCAC, Modica served as the interim Assistant Athletic Director at Vassar College and spent a year as an Asa S. Bushnell intern at the ECAC after earning his masters degree at Springfield College in Sports Management.
