WHITE PLAINS, NY (17 December 2007) - The Hofstra Pride split a
pair of games last week,
losing to Long Island rival Stony Brook before defeating Charlotte
70-68. Leading the way was this week's PrestoSports/ Met Basketball
Writers Association Player of the Week Antoine Agudio
(Huntington Station, NY/Walt Whitman).
Agudio averaged 27.0 points, 6.5 rebounds and 3.0 assists for
Hofstra (2-5 Overall, 0-1 Colonial Athletic Association). He had 30
points, 10 rebounds and five assists in the win over Charlotte on
Saturday, while shooting 6-of-6 from three-point territory. His ten
rebounds marked his career high and enabled him to pick up his
first double-double. By hitting all six from long range, he copped
the top three-point shooting game percentage-wise in school history
(several players had made five of five three's before, including
Agudio himself against Drexel in 2005-06). He had 18 points in the
second half, including a big three-pointer with just under three
minutes to play to start a 10-0 run that turned a 65-60 deficit
into a 70-65 lead. He became the first player in school history
with 300 career three-pointers (and fifth in CAA history).

About the PrestoSports/MBWA Weekly Player of the Week
Award
Founded for the 2004-05 season, the Player of the Week
Award is granted on a weekly basis by the New York Area
Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association. Each week, each of the
nearly 75 schools that play college basketball in the Tri-state
area have the ability to nominate one male and one female
student-athlete, based upon their on-court accomplishments over the
previous seven days. An esteemed panel of eight media members votes
to select from the nominations the most outstanding player. Any
player who receives any votes, but are not named the Player of the
