Minnesota State makes live action available online for regional 

ROCKVILLE
, Md. - Fans of the eight teams at the NCAA Division II North Central Softball Regional will have an opportunity to follow all the action from Mankato, Minnesota this week. Host institution Minnesota State will publish live in-game statistics as they happen online via an exclusive interactive Flash viewer powered by PrestoSports the PrestoSports network at livestats.prestosports.com/mnsumankato.

The host Mavericks (43-12), ranked sixth in the NFCA Division II poll and winners of 33 of their last 35 games, will host the event on field No. 2 at Caswell Park in North Mankato. It marks the first time Minnesota State has hosted since 1987 and its first NCAA appearance since 1997.

Action kicks off on Thursday with No. 3 seed Southwest Minnesota State (36-11) facing off against No. 6 seed Minnesota Duluth (30-21) at 10 a.m. Second-seeded Emporia State squares (46-10) off against No. 7 seed Central Missouri (30-21) at noon. Fourth-seeded Nebraska-Omaha (30-18) meets No. 5 seed Winona State (43-19) at 3 p.m. Minnesota State hosts eighth-seeded Missouri Western (33-24) in the nightcap at 5:30 p.m. on May 10.

Weather permitting the tournament continues through Sunday, with an if necessary game on Monday, May 15. The tournament champion advances to the eight-team NCAA Division II Softball Championship in Akron, Ohio from May 17-21.
