NATION'S LEADING ACADEMIC AND ATHLETICS LIBERAL ARTS COLLEGE JOINS PRESTOSPORTS NETWORK, 10-TIME NCAA DIRECTORS' CUP WINNER WILLIAMS COLLEGE PARTNERS FOR WEB SOLUTIONS

ROCKVILLE, Md. - Williams College, a national leader in academics and athletics, has joined the PrestoSports network. The Williamstown, Mass. institution is consistently ranked among the top liberal arts colleges in the country.  The athletics program has won the NCAA Division III Directors' Cup each of the last eight years. After intense consultation between members of the Williams College athletics staff and the PrestoSports team, the new home of the Ephs will launch this summer.

"We were looking for a company that had experience and vision and Presto has that with their stable of former SIDs," said Williams SID Dick Quinn. "It's great to work with people you know who have been in your shoes and have the ability to maximize the efficiency of a website."

"Williams College has excelled at the highest level both academically and athletically," PrestoSports Project Manager Robb Modica said. "PrestoSports is excited to meet this challenge and provide Williams with a website which matches their excellence."

The Williams College athletic department encompasses 32 sports. The Ephs compete in 16 men's sports (baseball, basketball, crew, cross country, football, golf, ice hockey, lacrosse, alpine skiing, nordic skiing, soccer, squash, swimming & diving, tennis, track & field and wrestling) and 16 women's sports (basketball, crew, cross country, field hockey, golf, ice hockey, lacrosse, alpine skiing, nordic skiing, soccer, softball, squash, swimming & diving, tennis, track & field and volleyball).

The U.S. Sports Academy Directors' Cup program is the only all-sports competition that recognizes the institution in each division with the best overall athletics program. Williams has won 10 of the 11 Director's Cups. In the 2005-06 academic year, Williams was the national champion in women's rowing and 11 other teams recorded top 10 finishes.

Williams is a proud member of the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) and The Little Three. Amherst, Bates, Bowdoin, Colby, Connecticut College, Hamilton, Middlebury, Trinity, Tufts and Wesleyan join Williams in the NESCAC. The Little Three, believed to be America's oldest, continuous intercollegiate athletic conference without a membership change features 26 sports among Williams, Amherst and Wesleyan.

Established in 1793 with funds bequeathed by Colonel Ephraim Williams, Williams College is private, residential, and liberal arts, with graduate programs in the history of art and in development economics. Located in Williamstown, Mass., in the Berkshires of northwestern Massachusetts, 135 miles from Boston and 165 miles from New York City, the undergraduate enrollment is approximately 2,000 students.
