CLAREMONT-MUDD-SCRIPPS PARTNERS WITH PRESTOSPORTS FOR ATHLETICS WEB SITE SOLUTIONS, CMS ATHLETICS SITE DESIGN PROCESS UNDERWAY

ROCKVILLE, Md. - CMS Athletics, the NCAA Division III member of the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference which fields teams with students from Claremont McKenna College, Harvey Mudd College and Scripps College, has partnered with PrestoSports for a innovative new athletics web site. Members of the CMS Athletics staff and the PrestoSports team are aiming for a site launch later this summer.

"We have a very complex organization to serve with our web site.  I was especially impressed with the job PrestoSports has done for our athletic conference (SCIAC) and by the recommendation by our Executive Director who worked with them to build the site," CMS Athletic Director Michael Sutton said. "Early conversations with PrestoSports convinced me that we would get the support and service we'll need to allow CMS to develop a site that will serve our entire department operation, internally and externally.  I'm looking forward to seeing our rolled out product and how we can use our web site to better represent our athletic program and the variety of activities supported by our department."

CMS Athletics fields teams in 21 sports, 19 of which compete in the SCIAC. CMS Athletics is the only program in the SCIAC which has won a conference title in each sport and they have won all 19 sports at least twice. The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men's teams, nicknamed the Stags, include baseball, basketball, cross country, football, golf, soccer, swimming, tennis, track & field and water polo. The women's teams are nicknamed the Athenas and compete in basketball, cross country, golf, lacrosse, soccer, softball, swimming, tennis, track & field, volleyball and water polo. The women's golf and women's lacrosse programs compete as NCAA Division III independents.

"We're grateful for the opportunity to work with this first-class athletics program," PrestoSports Vice President Patrick Summers said. "CMS provides remarkable experiences for its athletes both on and off the field of play. We're excited for the challenge to match this excellence in a new web site. It means a lot to us to add another SCIAC program to the PrestoSports network."

The three unique colleges are part of the Claremont Colleges. Each has its own student body, faculty, administration, campus, curricular emphasis, and individual style and purpose. Because of their adjoining campuses, the Claremont Colleges form a mutually beneficial partnership to offer joint academic programs and cross-registration in courses and extracurricular programs such as CMS Athletics.

Each of the schools which make up CMS Athletics ranks among the nation's most selective liberal arts colleges. Claremont McKenna, which checked in at 12th in the latest U.S. News & World Report national rankings, enrolls 1,153 students in business and public affairs. Harvey Mudd, No. 14 on the U.S. News & World Report ranking, offers undergraduate programs in engineering, science and mathematics, while also emphasizing the humanities and social sciences for its 729 students. An undergraduate women's college with an enrollment of approximately 859, Scripps is well known for its core curriculum in the humanities and its emphasis on interdisciplinary study. Scripps was 26th on the latest U.S. News & World Report ranking of the nation's liberal arts colleges.
