BRIDGEWATER STATE PARTNERS WITH PRESTOSPORTS FOR NEW COLLEGE ATHLETICS WEBSITE, MASCAC MEMBER BEGINS SITE REDESIGN

ROCKVILLE, Md. - Bridgewater State College, an NCAA Division III member of the Massachusetts State College Athletic Conference (MASCAC), has partnered with PrestoSports to create an innovative new web site for its athletics program. The new home of the Bears will launch with a unique design this fall.

"We are really excited about the prospects for our new Athletics web site.  Not only will it be action-packed, fun and easy to navigate but it will also provide us with a number of features that our old site was not able to support," Bridgewater State College Director of Athletics John Harper said. "PrestoSports has built many similar sites all over the country and their creativity and product support are second-to-none.  We hope to launch the site sometime in the early fall but whenever we do get it online, we expect it to be a first-class product."

Bridgewater State College athletics administration looks forward to a dynamic, interactive site which will help its technologically inclined student body follow the Bears. Bridgewater State features a wireless network and every student has a laptop - technological features which prompted Yahoo! Internet Life to rank Bridgewater State College one of America's Top 50 Most-Wired Colleges and Universities.

"Bridgewater State offers a wonderful experience to its students and student-athletes," PrestoSports Vice President Patrick Summers said. "The PrestoSports team is excited to help create a cutting edge web site together with the BSC administration that highlights its tradition and exciting future."

The Bridgewater State College athletic department fields intercollegiate men's teams in baseball, basketball, cross country, football, soccer, swimming, tennis, track & field and wrestling. The women make their mark in basketball, cross country, field hockey, lacrosse, soccer, softball, swimming, track & field and volleyball. The college also boasts a strong intramural, club and recreation sports program.

Situated on 235 acres in the heart of Bridgewater, Mass., Bridgewater State College was founded in 1840 by Horace Mann as one of America's first teacher preparation institutions. While maintaining its historical focus on the preparation of teachers, Bridgewater today provides a broad range of baccalaureate degree programs through its School of Arts and Sciences, its nationally-recognized School of Education and Allied Studies, and its School of Business, which includes the only four-year aviation program at a public college in New England.
