LEWIS & CLARK PIONEERS LAUNCH NEW ATHLETICS WEB SITE WITH PRESTOSPORTS
ROCKVILLE, Md. - The Lewis & Clark College Department of Athletics has partnered with PrestoSports to create an entire new athletics website, www.lcpioneers.com. The new site launched September 7, 2007.
The Athletics Department and PrestoSports began initial design meetings mid summer to chart a course for the new web development. Adding more photos and multimedia were cornerstones of the improvement plan. The site launched on Friday, September 7, but is still a work in progress. It will continue to be altered and improved, with new elements, such as a section devoted to multimedia, over the next few weeks and throughout the season. The site currently features virtual tours of the Lewis & Clark athletics facilities.
"As high school students generally and student-athletes in
particular use the web more and more to learn about Colleges and
teams they may want to become a part of, it becomes important to us
that our web site is informative, exciting and current," said
Director of Athletic Clark Yeager. "As we
seek to engage our alumni, our presence on the web becomes an
incredibly powerful tool to communicate past and present
accomplishments. "

Lewis & Clark has to offer. Highlighting their
personalities, efforts and accomplishments as scholars, athletes
and citizens to the broadest audience throughout the world is
probably best done over the web."

us to best accomplish all three of these incredibly important

as we implement our plans and realize our aspirations to
continually improve the quality of the experience for Lewis &
Clark students."
The Pioneers former website, http://www.lclark.edu/dept/sports, will continued to be used for information regarding the physical education aspects of the department, including PE curriculum, intramurals, club sports, and the SAAC site.
The launch of the new website is also the official rollout of the Pioneers' new logo. The L&C, featuring a prominent ampersand between the L and C, was designed by Jim Ward Designs. The flashy upgrade of the interlocking LC is the start of a process of finding a new look for Pioneer athletics. It will serve as the Pioneer logo for the 2007-08 athletic year.
