BRIDGEWATER STATE COLLEGE DEPARTMENT OF ATHLETICS AND RECREATION LAUNCHES BSCBEARS.COM

BRIDGEWATER
, Mass. -- On Friday, November 16th, the Bridgewater State College Department of Athletics and Recreation will officially launch bscbears.com, a dynamic and interactive website that will be completely separate from their current domain.  The Athletics Department will partner with Maryland based PrestoSports, who has designed the new site.

"I'm really looking forward to the launch of our new website and its potential for our department," said Director of Athletics and Recreation John Harper. "Not only will bscbears.com be the most exciting and attractive site in our conference, but it will also support a number of interactive features that our previous site could not handle."

Athletics will now be able to stream live in-game statistics and it will give the department the ability to sell apparel and merchandise to its fans through the Internet. In addition, the site will allow the college to post the most up-to-date information about each of the school's 21 Division III sports teams and the improved capability to web stream football, men's basketball, women's basketball, and volleyball games.

"It's a shift from an education-based site to a commercial site," said Harper. "The implications of its use for student-athletes, recruits, parents, intramural participants, and the media are all very positive."

The website will also feature a moving scoreboard, which will allow fans to track how their favorite team is doing as the game is in progress. It will be linked directly with d3scoreboard.com, a site that displays conference scores from around the Northeast.

"PrestoSports has done a great job in listening to our 'wish list' and created an attractive, easy-to-use, dynamic site," said Harper. "They have provided a site for us that I think everyone will enjoy using."

Presto Sports was founded in 2002 and is the leading provider of athletic content management software to administrative and college offices.
