2007 Pride of Maryland Tournament Tips Off Tuesday
Quarterfinal contests of the 2007 Provident Bank/Pride of Maryland
Tournament tips off Tuesday, November 20 at campus sites. The Pride
of Maryland is comprised of the nine NCAA Division III schools in
the state: Frostburg State University, Goucher College, Hood
College, John Hopkins University, McDaniel College, Salisbury
University, St. Mary's College of Maryland, Villa Julie College and
Washington College.
St. Mary's (2-0) will face 1-0 Washington College at 7:30 p.m. The Seahawks won both contests at the Eastern Connecticut State Tip-Off Tournament over the weekend. Host Washington downed Polytechnic (N.Y.) in their first contest 94-72.
Defending champion Johns Hopkins (1-1) will travel to Hood (1-1) Tuesday for a quarterfinal contest at 7:00 p.m. Johns Hopkins fell in overtime to 77-74 to Richard Stockton in the Blue Jay Invitational Championship game. Hood lost an overtime contest to Staten Island before putting away Penn St.-Harrisburg in the consolation of the Dickinson College Tournament.
Salisbury (1-1) will host Goucher (1-0) at 7:00 p.m. The Gophers rallied from 10 down to defeat Maryland Bible in their opener Saturday. Salisbury lost to Allegheny in the Championship Game of the Mt. Aloysius Coaches vs. Cancer Classic a day after downing the host 83-80.
McDanield hosts Villa Julie (0-1) in their season opener at 8:00 p.m.
All teams will play Saturday-Sunday, November 24-25 at Johns
