GEORGIA SOUTHWESTERN PARTNERS WITH PRESTOSPORTS FOR NEW WEB SITE, HURRICANES SITE TO LAUNCH THIS SPRING

ROCKVILLE, Md. - Georgia Southwestern University, a member of the Peach Belt Conference, has chosen PrestoSports for its new athletics web site solution. Members of the Hurricanes athletics team have worked closely with PrestoSports to begin the process for a new web site which is expected to launch later this year.

"Partnering with PrestoSports for the design of a new website is another positive step forward for GSW in our quest for full NCAA membership," Georgia Southwestern Associate Athletics Director & Senior Woman Administrator Jaclyn Kaylor said. "We want to generate some excitement on our campus and within our community as well as reach out to our fans and prospective student-athletes to grab their attention. PrestoSports will be the key to achieving those goals successfully."

Georgia Southwestern competes in 10 intercollegiate sports. The Hurricanes entered into the provisional period on the way to NCAA Division II status on Sept. 1, 2007. GSW could become an active member of the NCAA as soon as the 2008-09 academic year. Varsity teams compete in baseball, men's and women's basketball, cross country, men's golf, men's and women's soccer, softball and men's and women's tennis.

A member of the University System of Georgia, GSW was founded in 1906. Located in Americus, Ga., an historic antebellum city of 17,000, 35 buildings and a lake are nested on 205 scenic wooded acres. All classes are taught by experienced faculty. The 2,400 students come from 19 states and 38 countries. The 39th president, Jimmy Carter and his wife Rosalynn attended the university. Long, warm summers and short, mild winters are characteristics of the area's climate - making for pleasant living conditions and year-round recreation.
