THE SAGE COLLEGES PARTNERS WITH PRESTOSPORTS, PROCESS UNDERWAY FOR HOME OF GATORS
ROCKVILLE, Md. - The Sage Colleges, an NCAA Division III member of the Skyline Conference, has partnered with PrestoSports for a new athletics web site. The home of the Gators will highlight the six Sage athletics teams and offer a preview of the men's programs which will be coming soon for The Sage Colleges.
"We have been so impressed by PrestoSports' presentation and professionalism," Sage Colleges Director of Athletics Dani Drews said. "We are confident that they are going to be able to breathe new life into our web site and show the vitality of Sage Athletics prospective student-athletes as well as our fans and alums."
The Sage Colleges currently compete with six sport offerings in the Skyline Conference. The Gators field teams in soccer, tennis, volleyball, basketball, lacrosse and softball. The women's volleyball team garnered the school's first NCAA berth with a Skyline Conference championship in 2007.
Starting with the 2008-09 academic year, both men and women will have the opportunity to compete in Division III varsity sports at The Sage Colleges. The NCAA Division III Administrative Committee approved Sage's proposal to expand the athletics program at Russell Sage College to include students - male and female - who attend the four-year coeducational Sage College of Albany.
Women from Sage College of Albany will begin competing with women from Russell Sage College in the fall. Men's tennis and golf will be established for the 2008-09 academic year; men's basketball and men's volleyball for 2009-10; men's soccer and cross country will begin in 2010-11.
The Sage Colleges is an independent comprehensive university with two four-year undergraduate colleges: Russell Sage College for women in Troy, N.Y and the coeducational Sage College of Albany. Through SCA's Sage After Work program, working adults with prior college credit can complete the bachelor's degree in a flexible schedule and format. The coeducational Sage Graduate School offers master's and doctoral degrees on both campuses.
"We're excited to be part of an exciting new chapter at The Sage Colleges," PrestoSports Vice President Patrick Summers said. "The Sage Colleges administration is tackling this challenge head-on. We're pleased to have been chosen to help meet their goals as the Gators make their mark."
The Sage Colleges will join Farmingdale State and Old Westbury to become the third Skyline Conference member to partner with the PrestoSports network.
