PRESTOSPORTS PARTNERS WITH GREAT LAKES INTERCOLLEGIATE ATHLETIC CONFERENCE
GLIAC SITE TO LAUNCH THIS SUMMER AND ONLINE ADMINISTRATIVE TOOLS AVAILABLE FOR FALL OF 2008-09

ROCKVILLE, Md. - The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC), an NCAA Division II conference headquartered in Bay City, Mich., has partnered with PrestoSports to create a new conference web site and online administrative tools. The unique GLIAC site is expected to launch this summer, while administrative tools to assist the conference and its membership in score reporting, standings, awards, and schedule change requests, will launch during the 2008-09 academic year.

"We're excited to offer our custom conference tools to the GLIAC and extend our services to another fine NCAA Division II conference," says PrestoSports Vice President Patrick Summers. "We're committed to providing the highest level of service to meet the needs of each of our clients. In addition to a unique site, the GLIAC and its membership will maximize efficiency through the latest technology for awards, score reporting and schedule change management."

Since its inception in 2002, PrestoSports has focused on creating efficient mechanisms for conferences and associations to run at maximum efficiency. The GLIAC will take advantage of three unique PrestoSports conference-based tools:

  • Scoreboard Interface will allow GLIAC members to enter schedules and results into an interface which immediately updates schedules, scoreboards, standings and the mobile site. Through this interface, institutions utilizing PrestoSports for live statistics will offer real-time updates to the site.

  • PrestoSports Online Awards System will streamline the GLIAC's nominating, voting, and compilation process for conference players of the week, preseason polls and all-conference selections.

  • Schedule Change Request will allow GLIAC conference schedule coordinators to coordinate services online. Member administrators will be able to communicate with one another and the conference office to submit changes to conference contests via this online system.

Founded in 1972, the GLIAC has been a leader in advancing and promoting intercollegiate athletics for men and women. In the 2008-09 academic year, the GLIAC will include full members Ashland, Ferris State, Findlay, Grand Valley State, Hillsdale, Lake Superior State, Michigan Tech, Northern Michigan, Northwood, Saginaw Valley State, Tiffin, and Wayne State. The University of Indianapolis (football, swimming and diving) and Lewis University (swimming and diving) compete as associate members of the GLIAC.

"We are very excited to be working with PrestoSports to develop a new web site for the GLIAC," says GLIAC Commissioner Tom Brown. "We realize that a well designed web site is not only an  effective, but is an essential tool for promoting the Conference and the accomplishments of our teams and student-athletes.  We feel that partnering with PrestoSports will allow us to take advantage of cutting-edge technology and the most recent developments in athletics web sites."
