PrestoSports unveils mobile score entry system for entire network, update scores on your mobile phone instantly

Update scores on your mobile phone, instantly

ROCKVILLE, Md. - PrestoSports, a leading provider of content management software and technology solutions to college athletics, has released mobile score entry to its vast menu of client services. PrestoSports Version 3.3.5 now allows anyone with network schedule access to update in-progress and final scores via mobile browsers.

With mobile score updating, members of the PrestoSports Network - including SIDs, coaches, web site clients, and conference offices and their membership - may sign in via their mobile device with their username and password. The system will detect browser type and enable either "Mobile" or "Classic" updating. The simple interface will allow score and status updates, which will in turn update the entire PrestoSports Network.

The upgrade functions on web-enabled mobile devices such as the Apple iPhone, BlackBerry, Motorola Q, Palm Treo, and more.

Through this upgrade, administrators will have another tool to communicate information to fans, parents, alumni, and more."

Student athletes on thousands of teams across the nation will now benefit from PrestoSports mobile score updating. PrestoSports clients can enjoy the satisfaction of knowing they are providing scoring information as near to real-time as possible.

PrestoSports clients now able to offer in-game and final updates through this upgrade include:

  • d3football.com and d3hoops.com: Every NCAA Division III institution receives access to the PrestoSports Network for updating live scores that feed national media sites.
  • d3scoreboard.com: Twenty-five NCAA Division III conferences utilize the PrestoSports Scoreboard Interface to update conference sites.
  • Collegiate Water Polo Association: CWPA will utilize PrestoSports Score Entry beginning Fall 2008.
  • All PrestoSports conference and institution clients.

The PrestoSports Network concept brings score updating to an unmatched level of efficiency, and mobile score updating is just one of many upgrades to the PrestoSports Network that have been made available this year. Client feedback has resulted in 24 software upgrades in this calendar year, and 34 since Version 3.0 was released in September 2007. Where applicable, technology upgrades are immediately available throughout the network for all PrestoSports clients.

Some of the updates that impacted scores and schedules over the past year have included:

  • Network schedules - Once scores are entered into the network, information populates associated schedules for institutions, conferences, and media sites. One entry gets the information to all audiences on the network. Using the PrestoSports technology to network our sites allows immediate information sharing across the country, and the ability for fans, coaches and media to be better served.
  • Live scoreboards - ECAC Hockey made live scores available instantly through a scoreboard page on its web site, integrating in-game StatCrew statistics to the conference web site. Conferences such as the Peach Belt Conference and Lone Star Conference utilized this feature for their conference basketball tournaments.
  • Mobile sites - In early March, daily mobile scoreboards were launched for 23 conferences. Now, scores for those sites can be added via mobile score entry.
