PRESTOSPORTS PARTNERS WITH VALLEY BASEBALL LEAGUE FOR WEB SITE

ROCKVILLE, Md. - The Valley Baseball League, a 12-team college summer baseball league located in Virginia's Shenandoah Valley, has partnered with PrestoSports to create its league web site.

By joining the PrestoSports Network, the Valley Baseball League will take advantage of a technology platform that services nearly 50 conferences, leagues and associations across the country. The new site will feature an exciting unique design with easy access to scores, standings and information on all league members and athletes.

"We're pleased to work with the Valley Baseball League on this creative new site," says PrestoSports Chief Operating Officer Patrick B. Summers. "The goal of the new web site is to enhance the experience for fans, parents, athletes, and league members who want better access to information. We're eager to provide the administrative tools that will make updating that information easier for the league, while also enhancing the league's brand."

Formed in 1923, the Valley Baseball League operates under NCAA rules and is funded in part by a grant from Major League Baseball. A member of the National Alliance of College Summer Baseball, the league has produced well over 1,000 professional baseball players, including a record 79 former players drafted in the 2008 MLB First-Year Player Draft. Current alumni on Major League 40-man rosters include David Eckstein (San Diego Padres), Aubrey Huff (Baltimore Orioles), Brandon Inge (Detroit Tigers), Mike Lowell (Boston Red Sox), Juan Pierre (L.A. Dodgers), and Chris Ray (Baltimore Orioles).

The league, nestled in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley between the Blue Ridge Mountains in the east and Allegheny Mountains to the west, plays a 44-game schedule starting in late May with playoffs concluding in early August. League members include the Covington Lumberjacks, Fauquier Gators, Front Royal Cardinals, Harrisonburg Turks, Haymarket Senators, Luray Wranglers, New Market Rebels, Rockbridge Rapids, Staunton Braves, Waynesboro Generals, Winchester Royals, and Woodstock River Bandits.
